Christmas Hamper Appeal 2017

17th November 2017

For a third year, we will be giving Christmas food and crackers to people identified by our Referral Agencies. Last year we supplied 111 ‘Christmas Food’ parcels. Will you help us give away even more this year?

Christmas should be a time of celebration, a time for families to be together, eat some good food, give presents (especially to children) and relax.  This is very hard or even impossible for households in financial crisis.  Our ‘Christmas Food’ parcels, given to households nominated by local healthcare or social care professionals, help such households celebrate Christmas.  Last year  local people donated almost 2 tonnes of Christmas food and we handed out 111  ‘Christmas Food’ parcels, 55 of them in association with one of our 3-day emergency food parcels.  In association with Bradford Cathedral and the Bradford Cinderella Club, the hampers also included a Christmas Shoebox, for each child, containing gifts appropriate to his/her age and gender.

We ask that donations arrive by Friday December 8th at the latest, so that we have time to prepare the hampers and deliver them in time for Christmas.  Further information about the items we need, plus downloadable publicity materials may be found here.

If you wish to support the 2017 Bradford Christmas Shoebox Appeal, then Saturday December 9th 11am – 3pm is the time to take your gifts of toys, toiletries or sweets to Bradford Cathedral.  If you have time, you could also help prepare and wrap the shoeboxes.
