A huge thank you to everyone who donated Christmas goodies for our recent Christmas Hamper project. You helped make a big difference in 208 homes, allowing people to celebrate and eat seasonal food they would not otherwise have had.
We produced 208 hampers this year; 58 for adult only households and 150 for families with children. In total, this is fewer than last year, but given that last year our total included 40+ hampers for the Gateway Community Centre (Ravenscliffe) who managed their own hampers this year, we in fact reached more non-Gateway homes than last year. 87 of the hampers also had one of our standard 3-day food parcels included.
3.6 tons of food for this project were shifted by our wonderful staff and volunteers over just a couple of weeks, so a big thank you is also due to them for their willingness to give their time and energy at such a busy time of year. Thank you team – you made Christmas much merrier for hundreds of people.
