Throughout 2023 we have continued our partnership with Equality Together to provide a welfare benefits advisor at our foodbanks. The First Contact Triage, Support & Advice Service works with “people in crisis, targeting those most in need and facing disabling barriers” which covers all aspects within welfare advice. Many clients have met multiple times with advisors and are being helped through incredibly complex matters such as PIP appeals which can take many months of work. And advisors are now typically engaged with clients for the full time they attend foodbank sessions.
