Harvest Appeal 2026: Local Community Invited to Support People Facing Hardship

Bradford North Foodbank is launching its Harvest Appeal 2026, inviting local people, churches, community groups, and businesses to come together at a time when the need for emergency food remains incredibly high. Over the past year, our foodbank has provided 6,316 emergency food parcels to individuals and families who couldn’t afford the essentials. This vital support has only been possible because of the generosity shown by our community.

Harvest is one of the most important moments in our calendar. The donations we receive now help us build up essential stock for the winter months, when demand for emergency food typically rises. Every collection - whether from a workplace, a church, a community group, or an individual household - plays a crucial role in ensuring we can meet this need.

Alongside emergency food, Bradford North Foodbank provides practical support to help people move forward from crisis. This includes debt advice, benefits guidance, and signposting to wider services. Many visitors also receive emotional support - often finding, for the first time, someone who will sit down, listen, and reassure them that they are not facing things alone. This connection is at the heart of our work.

As we begin this year’s Harvest Appeal, we are asking our community to consider supporting us once again. There are several meaningful ways to get involved: sharing an update in newsletters or community communications, organising a collection or awareness event, or choosing to make a financial contribution to help local families facing hardship. Financial donations are especially important, enabling us to maintain our van and equipment, respond quickly when essential stock runs low, and invest in new projects that strengthen our services.

Our Harvest Pack, including our poster and Shopping List, is available to help groups plan their collections. We’re also very happy to visit community organisations, workplaces, or churches to talk about our work, the impact of food insecurity, and how collective action makes a real difference.
